This is a personal website. It is run by Dave Roland. The short version is that it collects almost nothing, and what it does collect is only what you deliberately typed into the contact form.
What gets collected
When you use the contact form
The form asks for your name, your email address, and your message. That is all it asks for and all it stores. It is kept so that Dave can read your message and reply to it.
When you click through to one of the listed sites
The directory records that a click happened and which domain it went to, along with the referring page if your browser sends one. It does not record your IP address, your browser, your device, or any identifier. The record is a count of clicks by destination, and it cannot be traced back to a person, including by Dave.
Automatically
The hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which is how every web server on the internet works. Your IP address is briefly held in memory to limit how many times the same visitor can submit the form or trigger a click record in a minute. It is used for that check and then discarded. It is never written to a database.
Cookies
The public pages of this site do not set cookies, do not use advertising trackers, and do not embed third-party pixels. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner. There is nothing to consent to.
The private area at app.daveroland.com, which only Dave can reach, uses a session cookie so he can stay signed in. It is not reachable by visitors and is not part of the public site.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers process this data on Dave’s behalf, because they run the infrastructure the site sits on.
- Vercel hosts the site and serves every page.
- Supabase stores contact form submissions and the clickthrough counts.
- GoHighLevel receives your name, email, and message when you submit the form, so it becomes a contact Dave can reply to and follow up with.
- Cloudflare answers DNS for the domain and, where enabled, runs the bot check on the contact form.
- Google Workspace handles email sent to and from the address on this domain.
Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared with anyone for advertising. It is not passed to any of the other businesses listed on this site.
How long it is kept
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as they are useful for replying to you and continuing the conversation, and are deleted on request. Clickthrough counts contain no personal data and are kept indefinitely as aggregate numbers.
Your choices
You can ask to see what has been stored about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Use the contact form or reply to any email from Dave. There is no automated portal for this, because there is not enough data to justify one. He will do it by hand.
Depending on where you live you may have specific rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Ask and those rights will be honored regardless of whether the law technically applies to a site this size.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 13.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Contact submissions are stored in a database with access controls that prevent public reads. No system is perfect, and no promise is made that it is.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
Contact
Questions about any of this go through the contact form on the home page.
